A great wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintner’s Select is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 20 months in 40% new French oak. This is a beauty, with classic notes of espresso bean, white chocolate, crème de cassis, licorice and graphite. Some subtle oak appears in the flavor profile, which is mostly dark black fruits. The wine cuts a broad swath across the palate, and is savory, pure and hedonistic. With each look, additional nuances seem to appear. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

Medium-dark to dark ruby; forward, rich, ripe, intense, spicy, black cherry, cassis, and blackberry fruit aroma hints of mocha, green olive, and graphite; full body; big, rich, ripe, extracted, red and black fruit flavors with oaky undertones, herbal notes, a hint of espresso, and some creaminess in the mouthfeel; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Will benefit with another three to five more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.8% alcohol; 588 cases; 100% CS; released January 2016.
