2013 Pride Chardonnay

Our Napa Valley Chardonnay is a crisp and nuanced expression of the varietal that exhibits aromas of lemon zest, green apple, melon and a hint of pineapple. A lush mouth-feel is balanced by bright acidity, while classic flavors linger and evolve with time in the mouth.

Grapes were hand-harvested at 3:00 AM on the morning of September 9th from the cool, breezy Carneros region of southern Napa Valley and were then delivered to the winery.  Here they were cold pressed, settled, and fermented in French oak barrels, 25% of which were new. After a partial malo-lactic fermentation was arrested at 30% completion, the barrels were stirred weekly for ten weeks before the wine was settled, racked off of the lees, and bottled in July of 2014.
