While Jessica Baker drew her first breath in Santa Barbara, her Navy dad was transferred to Alameda when she was still in diapers and she called Napa home until she moved to Virginia in her teens. A high school graduation trip took her through Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, and Lake Como. Bitten by the wine bug during her travels, it wasn’t long before Jessica was back in the Napa Valley!
St. Supery provided Jessica’s entry into the wine business, where she began in the shipping department before moving into the tasting room. Her love for wine and food (particularly cheese) led her to expand her knowledge by attending as many wine and food classes as she could fit into her schedule. Recognizing her talent, St. Supery promoted Jessica to trade relations coordinator. In this position, she hosted private trade groups and coordinated with a team of fifteen sales managers and brokers across the country. Finding that she could handle even more, her position grew to also assume the duties of custom events coordinator. Somehow she found the time to study and received her Level One Sommelier certificate in 2012.
“I have my soon-to-be-husband, Mike, to thank for bringing me to Pride. Visiting was one of our first dates, and as a result, I fell in love with both him and the winery. It couldn’t have worked out better!”
In her free time, Jessica paints, plays the cello and loves the outdoors. “I’ll go to the ocean any time the weather is behaving – and some times when it’s not!
She also belongs to a supper club with who she goes out to eat, drink and be merry once a month and is trying her hand at home cheese making. In addition to her fiancé, she shares her life with Sherman the English Bulldog, the loudest snoring dog in the Napa Valley
