Born in San Diego, and a beach boy until he was eight, Chris began developing his strong work ethic and high standards early, when he took his first job bussing tables at his parent’s country club at age fifteen. Two decades later, having added college basketball star, bartender, and co-owner of a highly acclaimed French restaurant in Solana Beach to his resume, Chris pulled up stakes and moved to Napa. Here he helped his sister launch Tulocay and Company, one of the Napa Valley’s first gourmet food businesses. At Tulocay, Chris built the shipping and receiving department from the ground up, unknowingly grooming himself over the course of eight years for his current position at Pride Mountain Vineyards.
At Pride, Chris’s dual duties as shipping and bottling manager bookend our hands-on approach to customer service. On the front end, he’s the man who makes sure that the corks, labels and foils are delivered on time and that the labels that our friends on the bottling line get the labels on straight. On the other end, Chris manages the warehouse and our shipping partners, tirelessly monitors the weather, and packs all the orders himself that require special care.
Chris is still an avid golfer, though the demands of his job, two children and four dogs prevent him from hitting the links as often as he'd like. If you visit the winery and find yourself walking by an office with an impressive collection of etched large format bottles (and you'll know why their impressive when you see them), Chris won't be far away!
