2013 Vintner Select Chardonnay
The 2013 Vintner Select Chardonnay features a blend of our original block of clone 4 fruit, as well as a five year old block of clone 96, and for the first time, a bit of fruit from our new Figtree block planted to a heritage Wente selection. Night-picked grapes were cold-pressed, settled, and then fermented in French oak (20% new) and aged sur lies for nine months prior to racking and bottling. The resulting wine expresses heady flavors of green apple, pineapple, lilac, honeysuckle and lychee, complemented by a cool acidity and just the slightest kiss of oak-induced roundness and depth.
