2004 Sangiovese
This mountain-grown “super-Tuscan” is more than a mouthful, with wild berries, rich, ripe plums, hints of vanilla and leather and an amazing mid-palate that continues to evolve with incredible clarity and a luxurious finish. Always very limited in production, the Sangiovese took a particularly hard hit in 2004, when wet spring conditions resulted in lower yields. If this wine is in your offering, please don’t be offended that your allocation has dropped so dramatically – that’s all there is!

The beautiful 2004 Sangiovese offers classic strawberry, earth, and leathery aromas, medium body, fine texture, a layered mouthfeel, and surprising depth. It is best consumed during its first 4-5 years of life. - October 29, 2007 Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar, May/June 2007 Online Review

Moderately saturated bright red. High-toned raspberry and nutty aromas lifted by a floral topnote. Juicy and brisk, with bright acidity and lively red fruit and floral flavors that reminded me of a pinot noir. This was aged in neutral oak.
