"HOT WINES" Gorgeous fruit purity in this remarkably dark, sleek, rich and ultimately elegant offering. The dark color is fascinating. Aromas of jasmine, blackberry, anise, cinnamon, black cherry and cedary oak lead to a silky textured, rich and vibrant wine that's deeply concentrated while managing to be light on its feet, with a dark chocolate and cherry finish. Not overly tannic, enjoy it now through 2008, and perhaps longer.- J.L. - October 29, 2007 The Wine Advocate, Aug. 31, 2002, Issue 142

Readers should be on the lookout for Pride Mountain's new Syrah releases from young vines planted on rocky soils at an elevation well over 2,000 feet. There are only of the 2001. The gorgeous 2000 Syrah offers up aromas of roasted meats, blackberry liqueur, tar, and smoke. A huge, opulent Syrah fruit bomb, it should drink well for 8-10 years. These are out and out great mountain style wines.
